We have created this portal so that the users of the Royal Society of Chemistry's journals and books platform are able to request features that will help them in their day to day lives. We will strive to build features that make the experience on our platform easier with an aim to speed up your workflows.

Please feel free to request features, see what others have requested and vote for what you would like to see us develop. We look forward to your submissions (James Stevens - product development manager for journals and books).

How to submit

Please use the following format:

As a [job role], I want [goal] so that [reason].

As a [practicing chemist], I want [to be able to download the data form tables published in articles] so that [it is easier to use the data in my own research].

As an author submitting a manuscript a concise list of salient points on the submission process, journal choices & journal metrics would help speed up the process.

Currently the author guidelines are text heavy and very dense. One competitor offers a 'Hot Tips' panel that runs alongside their submission guidelines and offers links to thinks such as journal break downs, important things to remember when submitting &  also detailed description of journal metrics. This could help those authors who are submitting/considering submission but do not know what journal to submit to and may find the website, in its current state, difficult to navigate.

    Dear James,

Many thanks for your idea. Could you please provide me with more information to help me to understand whether this is a feature or actually to do with content. Content team might be able to help on this.

You mentioned another publisher is using a ‘Hot Tips’ panel, can you send me a link to the page?

    Best wishes,
